Rhonda Hoffman has been a genealogy librarian for 20 years and currently serves as the Genealogy Specialist for the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library. She has a Bachelor of Arts in History from SUNY Geneseo and a Master of Library Science Degree from the University of Buffalo.

Rhonda is the editor of the Western New York Genealogist, the quarterly publication of the WNY Genealogical Society and has served on the Societys board for 10 years.

Rhonda helped describe how to begin researching family members, events that happened in their lives and discovering, obtaining, and examining the records that pertain to them. She identified the techniques used in genealogy research, locate clues present in records, and recognize flawed records and resources. All this was done while keeping an open mind to possible name changes and becoming a real sleuth when seeking out information.

Rhonda took participants on a journey regarding the many twists and turns of genealogical research and provide attendees with a wealth of resources to help them get started.
